PBL subscribes to World Book Online for computers located within our schools but now extends this subscription to home computers within the PBL school district!!!  The World Book Online Reference Center includes all articles from the 22-volume World Book Encyclopedia print set plus thousands of additional articles, pictures, maps, and media.  It is updated daily with new and exciting data and includes a Spanish version along with Atlases, Dictionaries, and many other reference materials. 

Our World Book subscription allows us to give our teachers, students, and their family’s access to this valuable reference source at their home computers 365 days a year, 24 hours a day at no cost to them (a $50 value per family if purchased individually).  Grant funds from the district currently pay this subscription.

We hope your family will use the World Book Online Reference Center often to help with homework, special projects, and at-home learning.

To access the World Book Online Reference Center at home, follow these simple steps:

1. Go to the World Book web site: http://www.worldbookonline.com

2. Email WorldBook@pbl.k12.il.us for the user name and password or refer to the sheet that was sent home earlier in the school year.
