MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE PAXTON-BUCKLEY-LODA COMMUNITY UNIT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 10 BOARD OF EDUCATION OF FORD, CHAMPAIGN, VERMILION, IROQUOIS, AND LIVINGSTON COUNTIES OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS HELD TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 4, 2007 AT 7:30 P.M. AT THE PAXTON-BUCKLEY-LODA BOARD ROOM IN PAXTON, ILLINOIS.

President Mike Short called the special meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.

Upon roll call, the following board members answered present: Dawn Bachtold, David Dowling, Jeff Jarboe, Mike Short, Phillip Duling, and Dean Swan. Shawn Young was absent.

Others present were Jeff Graham, Barry Wright, Cliff McClure, Student 1, Mother of Student 1, and Amy Teske.

Dawn Bachtold made a motion to appoint President Mike Short as the presiding officer at the expulsion hearing. David Dowling seconded the motion. Upon roll call, all members present voted aye, there being no nay votes the motion carried.

Dave Dowling made a motion to go into closed session pursuant to 5 ILCS 120/2(c)9: Student Disciplinary Cases. Dawn Bachtold seconded the motion. Upon roll call, all members present voted aye, there being no nay votes the motion carried.

Closed session began at 7:31 p.m.

Jeff Jarboe made a motion to come out of closed session. Dawn Bachtold seconded the motion. Upon roll call, all members present voted aye, there being no nay votes the motion carried.

Closed session ended at 7:45 p.m.

Dave Dowling made a motion to approve that Student 1 did violate school rules. Dean Swan seconded the motion. Upon roll call, all members present voted aye, there being no nay votes the motion carried.

Dawn Bachtold made a motion to go into closed session. Phillip Duling seconded the motion. Upon roll call, all members present voted aye, there being no nay votes the motion carried.

Closed session began at 7:46 p.m.

Dave Dowling made a motion to come out of closed session. Dawn Bachtold seconded the motion. Upon roll call, all members present voted aye, there being no nay votes the motion carried.

Closed session ended at 7:55 p.m.

Dave Dowling made a motion to approve the ten (10) day out-of-school suspension handed down by school administration to Student 1. Dawn Bachtold seconded the motion. Upon roll call, all members present voted aye, there being no nay votes the motion carried.

Dave Dowling made a motion to adjourn the special meeting. Phillip Duling seconded the motion. Upon roll call, all members present voted aye, there being no nay votes the motion carried.

The special meeting adjourned at 7:56 p.m.
