MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE PAXTON-BUCKLEY-LODA

COMMUNITY UNIT DISTRICT NO. 10 BOARD OF EDUCATION OF FORD,

CHAMPAIGN, VERMILION, IROQUOIS AND LIVINGSTON COUNTIES OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS HELD THURSDAY, AUGUST 3, 2006 AT 5:35 P.M. AT THE PAXTON-BUCKLEY-LODA BOARD ROOM IN PAXTON, ILLINOIS.

President Mike Short called the meeting to order at 5:35 p.m.

Upon roll call, the following board members answered present: Dawn Bachtold, David Dowling, Phillip Duling, Jeff Jarboe, Mike Short, Dean Swan and Shawn Young.

The others present were Cliff McClure and Doug Blair. Dean Swan moved to go into closed session to discuss the employment and compensation of specific employees of the public body, 5 ILCS 120\2(c)(1); and to discuss and review a Board of Education self evaluation with a representative from the Illinois Association of School Boards of which the public body is a member, 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(16). David Dowling seconded the motion. Upon roll call, all members present voted aye, there being no nay votes the motion carried.

Closed session began at 5:37 p.m.

Dawn Bachtold moved to come out of closed session. Jeff Jarboe seconded the motion. Upon roll call, all members present voted aye, there being no nay votes the motion carried.

Closed session ended at 8:14 p.m.

Mr. McClure recommended the board accept the following resignations: Mark Portwood as High School Drivers Education/Health Teacher; Diane Bechtel as Music Teacher; Steffen Balegno as Industrial Arts Teacher and Travis Duley as Freshman Boys Basketball Coach. Phillip Duling made a motion to accept the following resignations: Mark Portwood as High School Drivers Education/Health Teacher; Diane Bechtel as Music Teacher; Steffen Balegno as Industrial Arts Teacher and Travis Duley as Freshman Boys Basketball Coach. Jeff Jarboe seconded the motion. Upon roll call, all members present voted aye, there being no nay votes the motion carried.

Mr. McClure recommended the board hire Marilyn Fields as Head Cook at Clara Peterson pending health sanitation certification. Upon roll call, all members present voted aye, there being no nay votes the motion carried.

Mr. McClure recommended the board hire Margaret Sparks as Two Hour Lunch Server at Eastlawn. Jeff Jarboe made a motion to hire Margaret Sparks as Two Hour Lunch Server at Eastlawn. Shawn Young seconded the motion. Upon roll call, all members present voted aye, there being no nay votes the motion carried.

Mr. McClure recommended the board recall Colleen Stamm as teacher aide that was dismissed in the Spring due to the Reduction in Force. Upon roll call, all members present voted aye, there being no nay votes the motion carried.

Mr. McClure recommended the board hire Kathy Forsyth as a teacher aide. Dawn Bachtold made a motion to hire Kathy Forsyth as teacher aide. Shawn Young seconded the motion. Upon roll call, all members present voted aye, there being no nay votes the motion carried.

Mr. McClure recommended the board hire Jan Weston as a teacher aide. Jeff Jarboe made a motion to hire Jan Weston as a teacher aide. David Dowling seconded the motion. Upon roll call, all members present voted aye, there being no nay votes the motion carried.

Mr. McClure recommended the board hire Josh Kinney as a 40 hour Custodian at the High School pending physical. Dean Swan made a motion to hire Josh Kinney as a 40 hour Custodian at the High School pending physical. David Dowling seconded the motion. Upon roll call, all members present voted aye, there being no nay votes the motion carried.

Mr. McClure recommended the board hire Travis Duley as Varsity Girls Basketball Coach. Shawn Young made a motion to hire Travis Duley as Varsity Girls Basketball Coach. Phillip Duling seconded the motion. Upon roll call, all members present voted aye, there being no nay votes the motion carried.

Mr. McClure recommended the board hire Mitch Wilson as Drivers Education/Health Teacher. Phillip Duling made a motion to hire Mitch Wilson as Drivers Education/Health Teacher. Jeff Jarboe seconded the motion. Upon roll call, all members present voted aye, there being no nay votes the motion carried.

Dawn Bachtold made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Jeff Jarboe seconded the motion. Upon roll call, all members present voted aye, there being no nay votes the motion carried.
