Directions to PBLJH Panther Cross Country Meets

§ St. Joseph. Travel to St. Joseph via I-74 or north from the Flatville Road. Once in town, turn left at the 4 way stop and go East on Rt. 150 to the street just past Caseys. Turn right and go 4 or 5 blocks. You’ll run into the grade school, which is where we run.

§ Tri-Valley at Moraine View State Park, Dawson Lake. From Paxton, take Rt. 9 to the sign “Moraine View State Park”, which is not too far out of Bloomington. Follow the signs to the park and meet at the Concession stand. This is probably the worst spectator course, since you will only see the finish as we start on the other side of the lake and run the road to the finish. From Champaign, From I 74, Exit #149 at LeRoy. Follow signs into LeRoy. Turn left on US 150 to Casey General Store. Turn Right on LeRoy-Lexington blacktop (County Hwy. 21). North to sign (Moraine View State Park), next Right. Follow road into park, past main entrance to flagpole.

§ Unity. Take I-57 South to the Monticello Exit, turn E to Rt. 45, turn S onto Rt. 45, as you come into Tolono, turn left at the first Rail Road crossing (Walnut), drive to the 2^nd 4 way stop and turn left onto Central. You’ll come to another 4 way stop. Continue straight on that road until you come to the high school, which is where we run. The race is conducted next to the football field.

§ Kickapoo. Come into Kickapoo State Park off of Henning Road. From I-74 get off at ML King (Rt. 150) exit and go towards Danville. At the stoplight, (Gold Nugget is on the left side of the road), turn left onto Henning Rd. Travel N about 2 miles and you’ll see a sign to Kickapoo, turn W and travel to the park (about 2 miles) When you get into the park you’ll see the offices to the left and a big meadow. We start and finish on that meadow. From Paxton, take Rt. 9 E to Rt. 49 S, to Rt. 136 E, to Henning Rd. S, then go about 10 miles or so until you come to that same Kickapoo sign. I think there is a blond brick church at that turn.

§ Monticello at Lodge Park.. Take I-72 W until you come to the first exit at Monticello. Turn right and go a mile or two. Lodge Park is on the left side of the road.

§ Mahomet at Lake of the Woods. Take I-74 to Mahomet Exit #174 (Prairie View Road). Turn North onto Prairie View Road and go to the first stop sign. Turn left (west). In approximately a half mile the road will “T” at a stop sign. Turn left (south). The main entrance to the park is less than ¼ mile up the slight hill. Turn right (west) into the park then take an immediate left (50 yards). Park at the lot at the top of the hill near the Bell Tower.
