Athletic Director Meeting's
February 10, 1999
Minutes
1. The meeting started at 8:30. All schools were present except Central and Momence.
2. Uni High passed out information for an indoor track meet on Wednesday March 3 at the U of I Armory. If interested, please contact Uni High.
3. All-Conference nomination forms were passed out. Please return (fax or email) these to John Overstreet at Paxton-Buckley-Loda by Thursday February 18th. The meeting is on Saturday February 20th at 9:30 a.m. at Paxton-Buckley-Loda.
4. Athletic Directors were informed that St. Thomas More High School has withdrawn its application for membership in the SVC.
5. The Tournament Report was discussed. The Athletic Directors made the following recommendations to the Principals:
a. Awards be given to places 1-3 and 5th. This was recommended unanimously.
b. Athletic Directors will poll their coaches about the need for a seed meeting for the tournaments and how to seed the teams. (Either by record alone or like the regional where the coaches vote)
c. It was discussed that it is possible that there could be conflicts during the basketball tournaments when a higher seed is assigned to host a game on Monday night and they already have a regular season game scheduled. The Athletic Directors recommend that the following schedule be followed for such conflicts.
The regular season JV game would start at 4:00 with the varsity game to follow, then the SVC tourney game would follow that game, not to start later than 8:00.
6. Schedules were discussed for the 2001-02 and 2002-03 seasons. The secretary was given the following guidelines:
Volleyball games would be scheduled on Tuesday and Thursday. Tournament week 16.
Girl's basketball: Monday and Thursday. Tournament week 30
Boy's Basketball: Tuesday and Friday. Tournament week 31.
7. Schedules for 1999-2000 were reviewed.
8. The meeting adjourned at 10:15.
