Minutes Athletic Directors’ Meeting on Wednesday December 5, 2008

1. Review future football schedules, officials for future years

The Schedules and officials were reviewed. Please inform John Overstreet when changes occur.

2. Discuss Volleyball Tourney

The survey was discussed and the Athletic Directors recommend that beginning in 2008-09, the tourney format be changed to Thursday and Saturday—this means dropping the games that would have been played on Tuesday. The rational is that this will allow one more night for regular season contests and will guarantee teams will have games played closer to regional tournaments the following week.

The brackets are online (click here) this will mean one night of officials will have to be released—the Tuesday night games and another set hired for Thursday.

3. Discuss Girl’s Basketball Tournaments for 07-08

Final brackets, dates, sites and timelines for the Girl’s Basketball Tournament were set. The brackets are online. The tourney will be held at Paxton, Gilman and Parkland. Summary sheets of team’s season are due to John Overstreet on 1-2-08, seeding forms are due on 1-4 and the pairings will be posted on 1-4-08 once all seeds are received.

Discuss possible change in weeks for girl’s tourney in 08-09 and 09/10

It was decided due to possible non-conference games that schools may have and possible problems in contracting officials the 2008-09 tourney will stay in the same corresponding week.

It was agreed upon to recommend that the 2009-2010 tourney be moved to week 29 of the IHSA calendar—January 18-23. These changes will be discussed and finalized at the February 2008 Athletic Directors meeting.

4. Discuss Boy’s Basketball Tourney

Final brackets, dates, sites and timelines for the Boy’s Basketball Tournament were set. The brackets are online. The tourney will be held at Paxton, Gilman and Parkland. Central will host one game on Thursday January 31, 2008. Summary sheets of team’s season are due to John Overstreet on 1-23-08, seeding forms are due on 1-24 and the pairings will be posted on 1-24-08 once all seeds are received.

5. Review By-Law Concerning All Conference in relation to Special Mention in

The Athletic Directors discussed the various by-laws concerning all conference and recommend to the Principals the changes on this link—click here

6. 2007-08 Calendar

The Athletic Directors discussed the current year calendar. Minor revisions were made based on tournament games.

7. Review Spring schedules for 2007-08.
