Athletic Directors’ Minutes
Agenda:
1.
The Athletic Directors reviewed the remaining 2009-2010 Calendar.
2. The Treasurer’s Report was discussed. The Athletic Directors also discussed the remaining expenses for the year.
3. The Athletic Directors reviewed the Girl’s Basketball Tourney. The tourney made $31.68 after all expenses. (report)
4. The Athletic Directors reviewed the Boy’s Basketball Tourney. A final report will be presented at a future meeting.
----The Athletic Directors agreed to make the recommendation to increase admission to SVC tournament games to $5 and $ for nights that have 2 or 3 contests. Single game nights would still be $4 and $3.
----Agreed to poll the girl’s basketball coaches and officials on the subject of reducing the number of officials each night during the week to a total of three. Officials would work 2 games for $100. This would be a savings of $240. On championship Saturday officials work one game each.
5. The Athletic Directors reviewed the remaining Boy’s and Girl’s Basketball Schedules.
6. The Athletic Directors agreed to recommend to the Principals to have an All Star Basketball game with the HOIC (by-law language) again this year. Radio station WGCY will be the host.

8. The Athletic Directors discussed allowing “end zone camera” during football games. There are no IHSA Terms or by-laws that prevent this. The SVC also does not have any language that prevents its use. The Athletic Directors agreed that schools could use these cameras, but that some schools may not have electricity in the end zone.
9. A brief discussion was held on the possible expansion of Sangamon Valley Conference. At this time, no school has expressed any official interest in joining the SVC.

11. The Athletic Directors discussed ways to save money for schools in travel and scheduling in the future in all sports. Topics included:
----cutting freshman level sports at some schools, reducing lower level games, playing more varsity boys and girls games together, playing extra innings for sophs after varsity spring contests and mileage restraints.
12. The Athletic
Directors reviewed the 2010 Spring Schedules
and are reminded that if there are updates to inform John Overstreet.
13. A discussion was held on film exchange in football. The Athletic Directors recommended that the conference investigate an online film exchange program. The estimated cost of this would be the $300-500 range and could actually save local schools money in reducing mileage reimbursements. The Athletic Directors will review this at their March meeting and make a final recommendation and any possible by-law change to the Principals.
