Principalsí Meeting


February 2, 2005


1.The meeting started at 8:20, all schools were present except:LeRoy, Blue Ridge, Clifton Central.


2.Mr. Maurer of CPCI made a motion to accept the November 3, 2004 minutes as presented.Mr. Colba of Tri Valley seconded the motion.The motion carried unanimously.



3.Mr. Uphoff of Fisher presented the Treasurerís Report.The SVC has a balance of $3123.25 as of today.Mr. Uphoff estimated expenses of about $5000 and revenue of $2500 for the remainder of the school year that will leave the SVC with a balance of around $1000 at the end of the 2004-05 school year.Mr. Hawkins of Iroquois West made a motion to accept, Mr. Maurer seconded.The motion carried unanimously.


4.John Overstreet presented the 2004-05 Girlís Basketball Tournament Report.The tournament this year made $892.(The 2003-04 tournament made $194)


5.The 2004-05 SVC Basketball All-Star game will be held this year on Friday April 1, 2005 at GCMS High School. Gibson City radio station WGCY will again be the sponsor.Procedures for selecting the teams are online in the SVC Constitution and By-Laws.


6.The Principals decided not to pursue another all-star game between the Midstate and the SVC for this school year.


7.Reminder that the SVC Honor Band will be on Monday March 14th at Blue Ridge High School in Farmer City.More information will be posted later.


8.Mr. Colba presented the information for the 2004-05 SVC Principalsí Scholarships. (Applications are online either thru the SVC page or by clicking here)


The following timetable was set for the scholarships:

The Principals will meet and set the final dollar amounts.

Wednesday April 6, 2005

Applications will be accepted.

Friday April 29, 2005

Applications due to local Principal.

Wednesday May 4, 2005

Principals will meet and select Recipients.


9.The Principals agreed to continue the $30 per school entry fee for the SVC Track Meet to be held on Tuesday May 10, 2005 at GCMS High School.This fee is payable to Mr. Uphoff at Fisher High School prior to the meet.


10.Mr. Colba made a motion for the SVC to donate $100 to the Athletic Directors to be presented at the IADA Annual Conference this spring as a door prize.Mr. Lindy of GCMS seconded. The motion carried unanimously.


11.The Principals decided not to hold a March Principals meeting.The next meeting will be on Wednesday April 6, 2005 at 8:15 in Paxton.


12.The meeting adjourned at 8:55 am.
