To All IESA Sectional 30 Track Teams:
Paxton-Buckley-Loda will be hosting this year's sectional track meet. It will begin at 9:00 A.M. with a scratch meeting promptly at 8:30 A.M. and will be held at the PBL HS Track. The seed meeting will be held at PBL High School on Wednesday, May 7, at 4:30 P.M. in the little assembly (Room 127) located in the front lobby. Enter through the main doors of the high school. It is very important that every school has a representative present.
Remember all entries must be submitted online through the IESA website. The deadline for entry is midnight Tuesday, May 6th prior to the Wednesday, May 7th seeding meeting. Coaches are encouraged to bring a hard copy of their sectional participant information to the seed meeting. In addition, please remember to turn in your blue sportsmanship cards at this meeting. Your school should have received information from the IESA about this procedure. Please review all of your participant information prior to the seeding meeting. No changes may be made to the sectional participant information after the seed meeting. Contestants shall be allowed to participate only in those events in which they are entered. On the day of the sectional meet, there are no substitutions – only scratches.
Please review the sections of the IESA By-Laws concerning participation limits, uniforms, electronic devices, etc. If you are assigned to a field event, please review the proper procedures for that event. I have included the assignments for the participating schools. Every school will be asked to help with a field event, timing, or both. With everyone's help this sectional should run very smoothly. Starting blocks, shot put, and discus will be provided. Schools will be responsible to bring their own batons.
The following are some general policies for the meet:
1. The track is all weather so only 1/4" pyramid spikes will be allowed.
2. NO TAPE ON THE TRACK OR RUNWAYS. Chalk, cut tennis balls or bean bags will be provided.
3. Only competitors will be allowed inside the track area. THERE WILL BE LIMITED ACCESS TO THE INSIDE OF THE TRACK. DO NOT JUMP THE FENCES.
4. Camps will not be allowed in the infield. Camps can be made in the South bleacher area or in any grass areas outside of the track on the West side or on the South side, but not behind the shot or discus area. Please, no spikes worn in the bleachers.
5. Scoring will be 10-8-6-4-2-1.
6. Please make sure that teams help to keep their areas clean.
7. Buses will drop off in front of the HS and park at the north end of the JH.
8. Teams will enter through the main gate as will spectators. Please inform spectators of the entrance fee determined by the IESA of $2.00 for children and $3.00 for adults.
9. A CONCESSION STAND WILL BE AVAILABLE.
