Minutes Principals’ Meeting Wednesday April 14, 2010 8:15 am, all schools were present.

 

 

1.  Mr. Bean of Tri Point made a motion, seconded by Mr. Brooks of St. Joseph-Ogden to approve the Minutes of February 17, 2010 meeting.  The motion carried unanimously.

 

2.  Mr. Millage made a motion, seconded by Mr. Spilker of Watseka, to approve the Treasurer’s Report, with the addition of $180 to the Tea Room and $1250 for the second payment of scholarships.  The motion carried unanimously.

 

3.  The 2010-11 Calendar was reviewed.  Mr. Felesena of Clifton Central made a motion, seconded by Mr. Chatterton of Cissna Park, to accept the calendar with minor modifications.  The motion carried unanimously.

 

4.  Mr. Felesena made a motion to nominate Mr. Millage from St. Thomas More as President and Mr. Brooks for Vice President for the 2010-11 school year.  The motion carried unanimously.

 

5.  Mr. Schaafsma of Momence made a motion, seconded by Mr. Brooks to appoint John Overstreet at Secretary-Treasurer for 2010-11 school year.  The motion carried unanimously.

 

6.  Mr. Bean made a motion, seconded by Mr. Chatterton to approve a Coop in golf between PBL and Rantoul for 2010-11 and 2011-12. The motion carried unanimously.

 

7.  Mr. Felesena made a motion, seconded by Mr. Brooks to approve a Coop between Watseka and Donovan for the 2010-11 and 2011-12.  The motion carried unanimously.

 

8.  The Principals discussed the AD and coach’s recommendation to keep tourney at rotating sites. 

 

9.  The Principals discussed future expansion of the SVC, but no recommendations were made.

 

9.  The All Academic Team certificates were passed out.

 

10.  The Principals discussed a possible rain date for the SVC Track Meet, scheduled for Monday May 10th.  Due to the IHSA moving Sectional seed meetings for girl’s to Tuesday, there could be some conflicts for girl track coaches to attend if the meet was rescheduled to late afternoon on Tuesday.  Mr. Millage made a motion, seconded by Mr. Felesena, to make Tuesday May 11th the rain date, but not start before 2 pm and to attempt to run the meet on Monday, with no event starting after 9 pm.  The motion carried unanimously.

 

11.  The Principals met and selected the 2010 Scholarship Winners (past winners).  Each winner will receive a partial payment in December 2010 or January 2011 and the remaining amount in the spring of 2011.

 

Academic:  Kaitlyn Krause, Tri Point High School

 

Fine Arts:   Mallory Gocken, Watseka High School and Ryan Morrison, Clifton Central High School

 

Vocational:  Alexis Schuldt, Cissna Park High School

 

Male Athlete:  Tom Pacey, Paxton-Buckley-Loda High School

 

Female Athlete:  Katie Cowan, Watseka High School and Bria Olson, St. Joseph-Ogden High School
