Principals’ Minutes
1. The meeting started at 8:20, all schools were
present except: Clifton Central, Momence, Watseka and LeRoy.
2. The minutes of the September 3, 2003 meeting
were presented. Mr. Maurer of CPCI made
a motion to accept the minutes, seconded by Mr. Hawkins of Iroquois West. The motion carried unanimously.
3. Mr. Uphoff of Fisher presented the Treasurer’s
Report. The SVC has a balance of
$4249.91 after paying two bills to Trophy time for awards. Mr. Colba of Tri Valley made a motion,
seconded by Mr. Koehl of Blue Ridge, to accept the Treasurer’s Report. The motion carried unanimously.
4. A brief discussion was held on the 2003 SVC Social
held at Railside in

5. The Principals agreed to keep the 2004 SVC Track
Meet at
6. A review and discussion was held on possible
by-law changes from the Athletic Directors.
The discussion points:
a. Awarding medals to the winning team of the SVC
tournaments in volleyball, boys and girls basketball. The winning team would get 15 medals at a
cost of about $4 per medal. Several Principals
expressed concern over the cost and the awarding medals in a team sport. No final action was taken at the meeting.
b. A discussion was held on changing the awards
for the SVC Track Meet. Currently
ribbons are awarded for 1st to 6th places. Mr. Koehl made a motion to accept the
proposed by-laws change to medals for 1st to 3rd places
in all events and relays and ribbons for 4th to 6th places. Mr. Colba seconded. The motion carried unanimously. Secretary John Overstreet was instructed to
have a cost for medals by the

discussed. No final action was taken.
7. Mr. Uphoff officially accepted the Honor
Chorus for
8. A review of the purchase of Scholastic Bowl
questions was held. No decision as to
whether to purchase questions at this time.
The Principals will discuss the need for questions for this year with
their Scholastic Bowl Coaches and report back to the Principals at the November
meeting.
