SOCCER

Section 1. All conference schools participating in Soccer shall follow the IHSA Terms and Conditions.

Section 2. Conference Champion:

A. There will be one (1) champion for Soccer, with the champions being determined by a won-lost percentage of all SVC conference games.  If a tie exists co-champions will be recognized.

B.  To be a championship contender a school must have played all games on the SVC master schedule, unless the make-up game(s) has no bearing on determining the championship.

If a game can not be played due to scheduling conflicts and all reasonable attempts have been made to reschedule the game(s), the tie breaker will be head to head amongst the teams tied.  If this does not resolve the tie, then co-champions will be declared.

C.  Tie Breaker:  If an SVC regular season match ends in a tie at the end of regulation play the following procedure will be used to break the tie:

1.  A 10 minute overtime period will be played—the first team to score will be declared the winner.

2.  If at the end of the 10 minute overtime, the score is still tied, a shootout will take place to determine the winner.

Section 3. The Soccer schedule shall be established two years in advance by the Executive Secretary. Dates will be determined by the Athletic Directors.  Any changes in the SVC Master Schedule must be by mutual consent of both schools and any changes reported to the Executive Secretary.

Section 4. Selection for All-Conference teams for Soccer.

A. Soccer coaches may nominate up to up to fifteen (15) players.

B. Each head coach shall submit nominations for their team for all-conference consideration. Coaches may submit statistical and descriptive information, and this information will be considered at a meeting of the coaches to be held on a date determined by the Legislative body. Each head coach may compile individual statistics for each player nominated. This information should be for Conference Varsity games only. A list of each coach's nominations shall be delivered to the Executive Secretary at least 2 days prior to the scheduled meeting. A coach may make changes at the meeting. The nominations will be discussed and voted on by secret ballot at the meeting.  All ballots will be returned to the Executive Secretary and shall be available for review by the coaches at the meeting.

C. Soccer coaches shall vote for up to fifteen (15). The top fifteen (15) Soccer players will make the first team.

D. Special/Honorable Mention. Any of the remaining nominees who receive two (2) or more votes will receive Special Mention.

After all voting is complete, each coach may name one (1) additional player from his/her team to Honorable Mention.

E. A coach may not vote for his/her own players.

F. The executive secretary shall not make public release of the All-Conference Team until all conference schools have been eliminated from the State Tournament Series
