PBL Junior High

PBL Junior High is a school for grades 6-8, with 360 students attending. It was consolidated in 1990 from the Paxton and Buckley-Loda school districts and is located in Ford County, Illinois.  Newly opened in 2005, 360 sixth through eighth grades students of the area proudly call the new PBL Junior High their "Home of the Panthers".

The Library has a collection of approximately 6000 volumes, and has just joined Follett Destiny. There is one full-time librarian, with some student help.  Click here for the PBL Junior High Library Manual.

About the Librarian

I have been a school librarian for thirty-two years, nineteen at PBL Junior High. My teaching certificates are in Library Science, Spanish and English. I have a Master's degree in Education. My passion is to share my love of reading with all students.

 

 

 

Objectives of the Library

  1. To encourage a love of reading by matching each student with "just the right" book

  2. .
  3. To aid students in their class work by providing the most accurate and up-to-date materials possible- whether print or electronic.

  4. To aid teachers by working as a partner in developing lesson plans and projects that best align with our curriculum and the Illinois State Standards.
