Science Daily - Free online magazine that features breaking news about the latest discoveries and hottest research projects in everything from astrophysics to zoology with links to contact names and organization’s home page.

Ask the Space Scientist- Sponsored by NASA, an astronomer answers common questions concerning the interaction of the Earth and the Sun.

Astrobiology Roadmap - Astrobiology is the study of life in the universe. Astrobiology addresses three basic questions, "How does life begin and develop?"  "Does life exist elsewhere in the universe?"  "What is life's future on Earth and beyond?"

Astronomy Picture of the Day - A new photo every day with an description by an astronomer.

Here Comes the Sun - Created by the Plymouth State Meteorology Program, this is, according to the author "This is a self-guided tutorial on the sun and its effects on the environment here on Earth."

History of Human Space Flight - Another NASA website. Traces the history of space exploration.

Imagine the Universe! - Sponsored by NASA, this is a great site for kids 14+.

Look to the Stars - Kim Komando's astronomy "Kool Sites."

Lunar Prospector Mission - NASA is preparing for its first mission to the moon in 25 years.  Continuously updated.

NASA Home Page - Fantastic links to much information about space exploration.

NASA Human Spaceflight - The human part of space flight.

The Nine Planets - By Bill Arnett.  A well-organized site with photos.

Project Galileo: Bringing Jupiter to Earth - Sponsored by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory branch of NASA, this site includes many photos already taken by the Galileo Spacecraft.

Space Weather Today - This site is being developed as a component of the Windows to the Universe project, in collaboration with WeatherNet4 and Rice Connections projects.  This site not only shows current conditions on the sun, but other space weather phenomena.

Space.com: Something Amazing Every Day - A colorful website full of current information as well as photos.

Star Journey - Sponsored by the National Geographic Society, this site will take you on a journey to the stars through the Hubble Telescope, or through the star charts provided.

StarDate Online Home Page - Sponsored by the University of Texas McDonald Observatory, this is a good site for beginning astronomers.

Ulysses/ NASA Home Page - The purpose of the Ulysses Mission was to "explore interplanetary space at high solar latitudes," including a fly-over of the sun’s north and south poles.

Views of the Solar System - The Hawaiian Astronomical Society has gathered some fantastic multi-media presentations of various views of the Solar System.

Animal Index - The National Zoo has a wealth of information about animals in general ... animals inhabiting the Zoo in particular.

Animal Kingdom- Suitable for upper middle school through high school, this site is organized by phyla.

Bat Conservation International- Afraid of bats?  This site dispels some of the myths.

Biodiversity and WORLDMAP - "Measuring the variety of nature and selecting the priority areas for conservation."

Biology for Kids- A site designed for kids that includes biology of all kinds.

Charles Darwin ... Galapagos - Information about the author of the theory of evolution.

Creature World- As an off-shoot of Kratt’s Creatures, this site can send students all over the world to learn about various animals.

Dinosaur Eggs- Taken from the 1996 National Geographic article viewer can learn about the hunt for the eggs, how dinosaurs hatched, models of the eggs and a museum of dinosaurs.

DNA: The Instruction Manual for All Life- The Tech Museum of Innovation has a wonderful site using photos, graphics and instruction.

Graphics Gallery - "A series of labeled diagrams with explanations representing the important processes of biotechnology. Each diagram is followed by a summary of information, providing a context for the process illustrated."

The Gorilla Foundation- The Gorilla Foundation was formed to "promote the protection, preservation and propagation of gorillas."  This site describes the activities of the foundation, as well as those of Project Koko.

The Heart: An Online Exploration- Explore the heart and its workings through working models of the organ  that is so necessary to our lives.

Journey North: A Global Study of Wildlife Migration- The journeys of a dozen migratory species are tracked each spring, by over 200,000 students each spring.

Kid's Planet - Sponsored by the Defenders of Wildlife Organization (dedicated to the protection of all native wild animals and plants in their natural communities), this site has information about various animals & their habitats. 

King Cobra- National Geographic page.

Mike's Herpetocultural Home Page- Excellent links on the study of reptiles.

Museum of Paleontology- A site that covers many aspects of plant and animal life.  Sponsored by the University of California, Berkley.

My Body- Interactive articles for young students.  Shockwave is necessary.  The page takes a couple minutes to load, so be patient.

Raptor Center at the University of Minnesota- "The Raptor Center is an international medical facility for birds of prey. Our mission is to preserve biological diversity among raptors and other avian species through medical treatment, scientific investigation, education, and management of wild populations."  There are descriptions of various raptors available.

Sharks and Their Relatives - Sponsored by Sea World.  An extensive site dealing with all things sharks.

University of Kentucky Department of Entomology For Kids - Everything you want (or don't want) to know about the "creepy-crawlies" of our world.
