Melissa Robbins has worked as a secretary/lunch clerk for the PBL school district since 1990. She was born in Paxton, IL and is a 1972 graduate of Paxton High School. Mrs. Robbins has 2 children, Kevin and Kim, and 5 grandchildren.
As Mrs. Robbins reflected on her 31 year career she said, “I have too many memories to tell, especially from the old junior high building. Those memories will always make me smile!”
“I’ll miss seeing the 6th graders grow into 8th graders and I’ll miss the students, faculty, and staff who have become family,” she continued. “Every day is a ‘new day’ at the junior high and there’s always a student to make you smile!”
Ending her career during the COVID 19 pandemic is not how Mrs. Robbins wanted to leave. “This year made it difficult to get to know the students,” she said.
The PBL District would like to thank Mrs. Robbins for her hard work, dedication, and diligence in her job. She is an example of how important every position in our district is in making relationships with our students, caring for their well-being, and having a positive impact. Mrs. Robbins has also been instrumental in ensuring teachers, staff, and administration have the support they need as well. We hope that Mrs. Robbins enjoys her retirement and the extra time she will have to spend with family, friends, and reading!
