Mackenzie Tavenner of Paxton has been named student of the month for September at Paxton-Buckley-Loda High School. Mackenzie is the daughter of Keri Tavenner. She was nominated for the award by her art teacher, Emily Wood. Mrs. Wood stated, “As a student, she is willing to take on challenges to grow. She is responsible, loyal, and kind in her interactions with peers and teachers. What I find most inspiring about Kenzie is the growth I have witnessed in her over the last two years. Although Kenzie tends to be naturally reserved, she has grown to now be the first one to invite new students to be a part, to recognize and appreciate everyone’s differences, and is confident in her decisions and leadership.” Mackenzie will receive $50 from Farmers-Merchants Bank of Illinois.
