Mr. Blake Bodine Named PBL High School’s Staff Member of the Month

 

Mr. Bodine, PBL social studies teacher, has been named staff member of the month for November at Paxton-Buckley-Loda High School.

 

Mr. Bodine was nominated for the award by several students, which include seniors Kurtis Adkins and Makynlie Hewerdine.  Junior students Jesse Barfield and Addison Oyer also submitted a nomination for Mr. Bodine.

 

Mr. Bodine has been described as friendly and laid back.  He has created great connections with students while being a very effective teacher.  Kurtis Adkins stated that “Mr. Bodine is always willing to help anyone no matter what.  He always knows the answers to everyone’s questions.  Mr. Bodine is a great teacher and role model.”  Mayknlie Hewerdine shared that “She had Mr. Bodine for classes the past two years and that he is always prepared for class and makes it fun.  He does a great job of explaining the material so that students understand it.  I also like that he is supportive of us.” 

 

Jesse Barfield stated in his nomination, “Mr. Bodine is a great teacher and he always helps all of his students.  He is great at keeping the class safe with COVID.”  Addison Oyer added, “Mr. Bodine is pretty laid back and understanding.  He is interested in our individual lives and not just as students.  He seems very educated in topics for Psychology and is very good at explaining notes.  Mr. Bodine also has fun activities, such as, videos and Kahoot (which everyone loves).  He will always answer questions and makes learning enjoyable!”

 

The staff member of the month award was presented by Principal Travis Duley.  The award recognizes PBL High School staff members who play an important role in the lives of young adults, families, and society.  This award was established to recognize outstanding people for their dedication, professionalism, and work.  Nominations are submitted by PBL High School students.  The other staff members that were nominated for November Staff Member of the Month are Mr. Powers, Mrs. Wyatt, Mrs. Pickens, Mrs. Stalowy, Mr. Slack, Mr. Hess, Mr. Pool, Mr. Vaughn, Mrs. Ager, Mrs. Wood, Mrs. Zhao, Mrs. Frye, Ms. Milburn, Ms. Choo, Mr. White, Mr. Allan, Ms. Schumann, and Mr. Blacker.  Congratulations to all of these teachers on being nominated and thank you for all of your hard work!  Great job Mr. Bodine!
