Cameron Grohler of Paxton has been named student of the month for December at Paxton-Buckley-Loda High School.  Cameron is the son of Toby and Erica Grohler.  He was nominated for the award by his physics teacher, Melody Fried.

Ms. Fried indicated in her nomination that, “Cameron has an excellent work ethic and academic performance in physics.  He has shown kindness to another classmate when other students have made insolent comments.  Cameron has excellent behavior in class and always makes eye contact, nods, and gives both verbal and nonverbal feedback. He also cleans up after himself in the lab.”

Also mentioned by Ms. Fried, “Cameron works well with others and helps classmates who are struggling to understand.  He is an excellent overall student!”

The student of the month award is sponsored by the Farmers-Merchants Bank of Illinois.  The award recognizes PBL High School students who demonstrate the school district’s mission of “Excellence through rigor, relevance, and relationships.”  Teachers nominate students and the winner receives $50 and the other nominees receive a $5 Just Hamburgers gift certificate.  The other students that were nominated for December Student of the Month are Cadence Jones and Carson Vaughn.   Congratulations to all of the nominees and our winner, Cameron Grohler!
