On Sunday, September 27th, the sun came out to shine as a great group of supporters gathered at the PBL High School Track for the Down Syndrome Awareness Walk. From 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, students, parents, staff, and community members joined together to celebrate unity, belonging, and connection.
The afternoon kicked off with fun for all ages, featuring free games and activities, raffle baskets, a free hot dog meal, and local favorites available for purchase from Old Salty’s Food Truck. The high point of the event took place at 1:15 PM as everyone gathered for a ceremonial ¼-mile lap around the track, walking side-by-side in a strong show of support.
Events like this help us create awareness, encourage acceptance, and strengthen inclusivity in our community. Thank you to everyone who came out, wore blue and yellow, and helped make the day such a wonderful success!
A Special Note of Thanks: A big thank you to Alex Jones, a junior at Paxton-Buckley-Loda High School, for taking pictures of the event!
