PLTW Brain Dissection

During the fourth quarter, 8th grade students in Ms. Manley's science class at PBL Junior High School have been actively participating in the Project Lead the Way (PLTW) course, Medical Detectives. This course allows students to immerse themselves in the roles of medical detectives, addressing the challenges that reflect the work done by healthcare professionals.

The PLTW Medical Detectives course is designed to enhance students' skills in collecting and analyzing medical data for disease diagnosis. Students achieve this through various engaging activities, such as solving medical mysteries using hands-on projects and laboratory work. As part of their learning, they also learn to measure and interpret vital signs, examine the structure and function of the nervous system, and investigate disease outbreaks. Overall, the course offers students valuable exposure to the medical field and helps develop essential critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
