Students at PBL Junior High School recently teamed up to bring warmth and cheer to residents of local nursing homes. As part of a collaborative Student Council and Advisory Service Project, each Advisory class was provided with materials to handcraft cozy fleece blankets.
During advisory classes in January 2026, students learned about the Student Council & Advisory Service Project and began creating the blankets. The students enthusiastically embraced the challenge, putting both their hearts and hands into the work. Through their combined efforts, they produced over 80 blankets—each one a soft, tangible testament to their compassion and generosity.
On Friday, March 6th, members of the Student Council had the privilege of hand-delivering the gifts. The residents were overjoyed by the gesture; many faces lit up with warmth and smiles as they received their thoughtful new blankets.
Beyond providing physical comfort to the residents, this project instilled a deep sense of community and civic responsibility within the student body. It served as a wonderful way to spread kindness and make a lasting, positive impact on the lives of our local seniors.
A sincere thank you goes out to all the students and staff who participated in this heartwarming initiative. Here is a link to photos from the Student Council & Advisory Service Project - March 2026.
