Our 2nd grade STEM class had a Lego pumpkin chunkin contest today. We used our catapults to learn about force and levers, while having a little fun too! #Fall #PantherSTEM

Good morning PBL Families, This is a reminder that PBL is providing FREE breakfast and lunch to all students. Remote learning families and Clara Peterson families who pick up their children prior to lunch are also eligible to sign up for WEEKLY meals (see link below). Here are a couple of important reminders about food pickup: 1. Families will receive 5 breakfast and 5 lunch meals per child. 2. Families need to fill out a form for each child (i.e. a family with 3 students would complete 3 forms). 3. Forms need to be completed by Sunday, September 27 at 6:00pm. 4. Families can pick up food from 1:00pm-3:00pm at PBL Junior High School where the Commons Area is located. If you cannot make this time, please call Melissa Robbins at the Junior High to arrange for an alternative pickup at 217-379-9202. Please remember to complete the wellness screening for your student each morning before they arrive at school. If the screening is not completed, school staff will have to interrupt student instructional time to certify students.

Clara Peterson lunch choices for the first day of school: 1. Cheeseburger 2. Chicken Patty on a bun 3. Peanut butter and jelly We will also have broccoli, peaches or apple juice and milk. We are so very excited to see all of you tomorrow morning!

Attention Clara Peterson Pre-School students! We will host a Pre-School Back to School Night this Tuesday, August 18. We ask that girls attending preschool visit us from 5:00-5:45 pm and boys attending preschool visit us from 6:00-6:45. Each student may bring one adult to the Back-to-School Night. Please wear a face mask and practice social distancing during your visit. You may enter Clara Pete at the old north entrance, and exit through the west Park Street entrance. Kindergarten Backpack Night Thursday, August 14 Attention Kindergarten parents- In order to allow more time to finalize class lists, we will be holding ALL Kindergarten Backpack nights on Thursday, August 13. This is a change from our previous plans. The schedule will be as follows: Mrs. Jones     5:00-5:45-Boys 6:15-7:00-Girls Mrs. Gooden    5:00-5:45-Boys 6:15-7:00-Girls Mrs. Talbert    5:15-6:00-Boys 6:30-7:15-Girls Mrs. Peden       5:15-6:00-Boys 6:30-7:15-Girls Miss Harrison 5:30-6:15-Boys 6:45-7:30-Girls We will be releasing teacher assignments and more information to all Clara Peterson students early next week. Please remember only one adult with each kindergarten student, we ask that you wear a mask and we will be practicing social distancing during this event. Clara Peterson Parents, If you have not registered your student for the upcoming school year please do so as soon as possible through the Skyward link. Registering your student allows us to place him/ her with a homeroom teacher and helps us to make decisions to address both in school and remote learners this school year. The last day for online registration is Sunday August 9.

Clara Peterson Kindergarten Screenings will be held July 29 and July 30. If your child turns 5 on or before September 1, 2020 he/ she is Kindergarten eligible!
