Today was Principal Appreciation Day! The best parts about today at PBL Junior High were starting the day with staff breakfast and having students approach Mr. Didier and express their gratitude for all he does for our school!

The TCC track meet at Watseka has been postponed and will be held tomorrow. (Tuesday, May 2nd at 3:00.) There will be track practice today until 4:30.

The month of May is Mental Health Appreciation Month. Mr. Breen's, 7th and 8th grade band, has been practicing a piece called "Fragile" by Randall Standridge. This piece is about someone who struggles with depression. Mr. Breen reached out to our school counselor, Mrs. Johnson, to come talk to the students about their own mental health and their invisible pack backs. This was a very powerful day in 7th and 8th grade band for all that were involved. Well done Mr. Breen, Mrs. Johnson, and students.

In 7th Grade Science with Mr. Rubarts students have designed and tested catapults. This unit on catapults had students applying science principles with physic concepts like potential and kinetic energy, force, and momentum.

In 8th Grade Science students are currently taking a Project Lead The Way course called Medical Detectives with Mr. Johnson. Different staff played the role of patients while students discovered how healthcare professionals act as medical detectives to identify, treat, and prevent illness in their patients.
