
PBL will play at Monmouth-Roseville in the IHSA 3A playoffs on Saturday, November 2nd at 4 pm.

Congratulations to Brayden Kief, Lauren Krumwiede, Dylan Otto, Aubree Sawyer, and Lauren Sawyer for qualifying for the All-District Choir! They prepared 3 songs along with scales and arpeggios to audition for the choir. The All-District Choir performance is on Saturday, November 9th at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, IL.


Throughout the season our senior football players will recognize a staff member that has Impacted them throughout their time at PBL. This week Conner Vaughn chose Mrs. Duley. Conner said "She is a great teacher that helps everyone out. She also let me stay on the math team after all my missed practices."
Rolen Edison chose Mrs. Fried. Rolen said "She brought life into the classroom no matter what she was teaching. She was always approachable and made every effort to make sure everyone was caught up and engaged in the activities. She was more focused on us learning what she was teaching rather than just giving us a grade and being done with the lesson ."

On October 16, 2024, Alden Harms from Fredrick Community Bank visited Mr. Sinn's economics class to discuss bank loans and borrowing money. He guided students through the process of how the bank determines loan and interest amounts, emphasizing the importance of budgeting.

Our Panther Partners had a wonderful first field trip to Hardy’s Reindeer Ranch today. It was a great chance to bond as a group and make a positive impact.










Have you started thinking about college and questions regarding financial aid? Students and their parents are encouraged to attend Financial Aid Night on October 16th at 6pm, in the Little Assembly (After the College Fair) The filing period for the 2024-2025 FAFSA opens December 1st.

PBL will be hosting a College Fair from 4pm to 6pm on Wednesday, October 16th in the High School Lobby. This will be a great opportunity to gather information for various student services such as admissions, financial aid and any other questions you may have.

Students: If you would like to order a letterman’s jacket from Josten’s, please read your skyward message for details. The deadline for this is Tuesday, October 15th. Use the order form attached to skyward and return with the down payment to the office by Tuesday morning. If you need a form please stop by the office and pick one up.

Xander Campbell chose Mrs. Wyatt. Xander said "She would always go above and beyond to help me. Another reason why I picked her is she taught me many skills in electrical and mechanics that can transfer into other aspects of my life. Lastly I chose her because she treats everyone with respect."

Elizabeth Megson is a Senior at Paxton-Buckley-Loda High School who qualified as a Semifinalist for the National Merit Scholarship. Approximately 16,000 students (the top 1%) have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 6,870 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $26 million that will be offered next spring. In order for Semifinalists to advance to the Finalist level, they must fulfill several requirements. About 95% of the Semifinalists are expected to attain Finalist standing, and approximately half of the Finalists will win a National Merit Scholarship, earning the Merit Scholar title. We are SO PROUD of Elizabeth. She exemplifies hard work, is actively involved in various extracurricular activities, has a positive rapport with friends and teachers, and is a very driven student. We're excited and want to congratulate her!

Instead of Twin Day on Tuesday, high school students will be wearing light and dark blue colors in honor of the Cissna Park student who was in a tragic accident this weekend.
