5Essentials Parent Survey: We would like to invite you to provide feedback to assist us in driving our school improvement efforts. The survey is called the 5Essentials Survey, which will help schools and districts identify areas of strength and those in need of support. There is an optional parent survey that goes along with the teacher and student survey. PBL schools will get a report from the parent survey if the school achieves a 20% response rate. We are asking that you please take a few minutes to complete the survey.

As some of you may know this week is National School Counseling Week. We want to thank our counselors, Kristin Oyer, Lisa Niewold and Stacy Johnson, for being there to support our students. This week they worked hard to help our 8th graders prepare for their next big step.

The 8th Grade Orientation/Parent meeting will be held on Wednesday evening, February 7th at 6:00 p.m. in the PBL commons area. All eighth grade students and their parents or guardians are invited to attend.
Students and parents will receive information about courses offered at PBL, graduation requirements, required courses for college admissions, extra-curricular activities and general policies. There will be time for questions and answers. Also, tours of the building will be available.
All games, practices, meetings, etc. at PBL are cancelled for today, Monday January 22nd. Make-up dates for athletic contests will be announced once they are determined. Stay safe!
Seniors: It’s time to start thinking about college!! Check out the Scholarship Board for all the local scholarships that can be found on our Counseling webpage. If you have any questions, please stop by the counseling office.

Girls BB schedule update: on Thursday, January 11th we will be playing varsity only against Monticello starting at 6 pm. There will not be a jv game.
Girls BB schedule update tonight at Pontiac:
Varsity will play before the JV and JV will play a shorter game.
Varsity game will start at 5:30.
JV will play 5 minute quarters after varsity game.
Girls BB Schedule Updates:
Freshman game added on 1/17/24 @ Pontiac at 5:30 pm.
Varsity game added on 1/24/24 at home vs Oakwood 5:30 pm. JV to follow.
JV/Varsity game 2/1/24 vs Cissna cancelled.
Senior Night will be Monday, 1/29/24 before the varsity only game against STM.
Tonight at the boys JV and Varsity Home basketball game there will be a table set up for donations for the angel tree and there will be a half-court shot contest during both halftimes. Shots are $1 per shot or $3 for 5 shots, first to make a shot wins a free tshirt! All proceeds will go directly to angle tree for those families in need this year!

The PBL High School Chamber Choir will be hosting "Cocoa and Carols" in the PBL Junior High School Commons on December 15, 2023 from 6:00-7:30 pm. We hope to see you there!

Coach Pritchard and the high school football team felt like it was important that teachers be recognized for their contribution to the football program by helping guide the senior players throughout their education. The players wanted to show their appreciation to the teachers that have had an impact on their education. Many of these players have gone on to enjoy a particular subject or class that they may not have in the past simply because the teacher made it fun to learn. The t-shirt is a small token for the students to show that appreciation. Many schools hand out the game jersey once a year, but teachers then return it at the end of the week. The football team wanted the Impactful Teachers to be given something they could keep forever.
Seniors: Josten’s will be hereTuesday, November 14th at lunch to hand out senior graduation packets. Please plan on staying for a few minutes to get this information and meet in the gym.
