PBL families,
The City of Paxton, with Clark Dietz’s assistance, is preparing a funding application for the Illinois Department of Transportation’s Safe Routes to School Grant Program for the Clayton Hale Pedestrian Bridge Rehabilitation Project. The Safe Routes to School Grant Program provides funding to improve conditions for school children to walk or bike to school.
In order to assist, we are asking parents to complete a survey about students walking and biking to school.
Thank you for your help!

Did you know missing just 2 days a month can lead to chronic absenteeism? That adds up quickly—and can impact a student’s ability to read on grade level, stay engaged, and graduate on time.
That’s why our district partners with the Champaign-Ford ROE 9 Attendance Improvement Program. This initiative helps us:
✅ Monitor attendance more closely
✅ Identify patterns early
✅ Work directly with families to remove barriers to regular school attendance
🏫 School success starts with showing up—every day, on time, ready to learn. Together, we can support our students in building strong attendance habits for a brighter future.
📞 If you need support, don’t wait—reach out to your students’ school! We’re here to help.

Good Habits = Great Attendance = Success at School!
As we kick off the new year, it’s the perfect time to build strong routines at home that set students up for success! Here are 3 simple habits that can make a BIG difference:
📅 Set a consistent bedtime & morning routine
A good night’s sleep and a calm morning help students feel ready to learn.
🎒 Prep the night before
Pack backpacks, lay out clothes, and talk about what tomorrow will bring!
⏰ Prioritize daily attendance
Every school day counts. When students show up, they grow—socially, emotionally, and academically!
Let’s work together to help every student show up ready to shine ✨
