75 PBL Jr High and High School Choir and Musical participants enjoyed a trip to see Shrek the Musical at the State Farm Center in Champaign last night! Thank you to the Choir Parents Booster Club for sponsoring and organizing our trip and to the PBL Education Foundation for a $2000 grant to help cover the expenses.
Providing the opportunity to experience a professional musical production inspires students to create an exciting production. It also provides the opportunity to learn about future career options in fine arts.

Miss Bruens' junior high library workers have been learning how to cover books! The process involves applying a laminate cover to each paperback book to help protect and strengthen the book as well as extending the life of the material. Students have been working on covering the books for the new ELA curriculum.

Ford County Schools are discussing the difference between truancy and chronic absence with students in their schools. Both truancy and chronic absence can impact a child's education, but they're not the same thing.
Truancy is when a student intentionally skips school without a valid excuse.
Chronic absence is when a student misses 10% or more of school days, regardless of the reason.
It's important to address both issues to support a child's academic success and well-being.

Congratulations to our PBL Junior High School Students of the Week for the week of September 30 - October 4th. Great job, Panthers!
